- Onuki Athens Restaurant at THE ILISIAN | Luxury Dining
Discover Onuki Athens restaurant at THE ILISIAN. Japanese cuisine meets Athenian luxury in a design-driven dining experience at Conrad Athens Hotel. In Athens, a city shaped by ancient history, a new destination emerges, converging design, gastronomy, and cultural dialogue. At Onuki, the artistry of Japanese cuisine finds a luminous counterpart in the rhythm of the Greek capital, creating a dining experience that feels transported and deeply rooted in Asian fusion. Set within THE ILISIAN, a Conrad Athens Hotel, a landmark reimagining of urban hospitality, Onuki introduces a refined yet quietly dynamic presence. Designed by the internationally acclaimed interior design studio Yabu Pushelberg, the restaurant unfolds as a study in balance between heritage and modernity, Japan and the Mediterranean. From the moment you arrive, geometric lighting glows against deep wood, reminiscent of old Japanese ryokans , dancing a choreography of light and shadow. A recurring tile motif anchors the space, subtly bridging Japanese craftsmanship with a contemporary design. Upstairs, a warm persimmon glow draws guests toward a curved bar wrapped in terracotta-toned ceramic tiles, where mirrored ceilings and burnished metal accents cultivate intimacy. An intoxicating interior at Onuki. The outdoor terrace softens into Athenian light. Indigo accents meet pale limestone, while wood screens inspired by Japanese block prints introduce vertical rhythm. Sculptural lighting in white and Aegean blue merges the two cultural identities, complemented by artwork from Athens-based artist Sofia Stevi. A sushi bar anchors the space, while semi-private dining rooms and upper-level alcoves, defined by translucent shoji-inspired panels, offer moments of quiet connection above the energy below. A Culinary Philosophy Rooted in Kizuna Under the direction of Chef & Co-Owner Stamatis Skriapas, Onuki’s menu is guided by precision and reverence. Imported Japanese-sourced umami-rich ingredients are treated with precision and respect, allowing their intrinsic qualities to shine through. Rather than reinterpreting this time-honored cuisine, Onuki’s menu refines it. Seasonal ingredients are elevated through technique, resulting in dishes that feel both traditional and quietly transcendent. This commitment to craft has earned the concept multiple Toques d’Or Awards at its Costa Navarino location, a premier sustainable luxury destination in Greece’s Messinia region (Peloponnese), r ecognition that extends seamlessly to its Athens debut. At its core lies kizuna , the enduring bond between chef and guest, season and plate, tradition and the present moment. As designers George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg noted, Onuki is defined by integrity, precision, and a consistency of craft that resonates across every detail. Onuki's exterior at night. What Onuki achieves within THE ILISIAN is more than a restaurant opening; it is a relationship. Here, Japan and Greece, two distant worlds, collide, both linked by their distinct imprint on antiquity and modernity alike. Here, cuisine becomes a connection. Hospitality becomes something more intentional, more human. And in a city shaped by history, this new chapter feels distinctly forward-looking yet grounded in something timeless: the act of sharing tradition that creates a sense of familiarity and belonging. - Ferragamo Double Gancini Watch: Luxury Icon Reinvented
Discover the Ferragamo Double Gancini watch, a luxury statement blending heritage design with modern elegance. Shop this iconic timepiece now. The Gancini motif, a symbol of sophistication and recognizability, reinvents itself through a play of forms and geometries, celebrating timeless beauty and the enduring connection between heritage and modernity. Two new interpretations, inspired by the distinctive hardware on Ferragamo bags and the sculptural proportions of its jewelry, offer a dual perspective, intertwining brilliance, glamour, and versatility. The double-loop model is a statement-making piece, a wrist jewel that highlights the dramatic elegance of the bracelet, contrasted with the square-shaped case and the signature sunray finish on the dial. More understated and subtle, the single-loop version revisits the same precious geometry, encircling the wrist in a slender, thin line that evokes the fluidity of Ferragamo silhouettes. Together, the two pieces encapsulate the dual soul of the brand, balanced between ornament and lightness, structure and movement. Ferragamo's Double Gancini is available at bloomingdales.com , nordstrom.com and macys.com . There’s luxury, and then there’s Italy—where the idea of a luxury Italian lifestyle feels less like an aspiration and more like everyday reality. Not the kind you measure in thread counts or five-star ratings—but the kind you feel in slow afternoons, in sun-warmed stone streets, in a glass of wine that somehow tastes better because of where you are. Italy doesn’t try too hard. It doesn’t need to. Elegance here is effortless. If you’re looking to experience Italy at its most refined, these are the moments that go beyond travel—and start to feel like a way of living. A Private Escape Along the Amalfi Coast The Amalfi Coast has a way of making everything feel cinematic. The cliffs, the pastel villages, the endless blue—it’s all familiar, yet never ordinary. But the real luxury begins when you step away from the crowds. Imagine starting your morning in a quiet cliffside villa, where the sea stretches endlessly in front of you. Later, you board a private boat, gliding past hidden coves and secluded beaches that most travellers never see. It’s the kind of Italian luxury travel experience that feels personal, unfiltered, and deeply memorable. Lunch isn’t rushed. It unfolds slowly, perhaps at a seaside restaurant where the catch of the day arrives with a view you can’t quite put into words. By evening, the coast softens—golden light, gentle air, and the quiet understanding that you’ve experienced something rare. Wine, Time, and Stillness in Tuscany Tuscany doesn’t demand attention. It earns it quietly. Rolling vineyards, cypress-lined roads, and medieval towns set the scene—but the real luxury lies in the pace. Here, time stretches. Mornings begin with soft light spilling across the countryside, and afternoons often end with a glass of wine you didn’t plan to have. Private vineyard tours take you beyond the surface. You’re not just tasting wine—you’re hearing stories, walking through estates, and sometimes even joining seasonal rituals like harvests or truffle hunts. These moments reflect the essence of Italian culture and modern living , where tradition blends seamlessly with indulgence. And then there are the stays—restored farmhouses and estates where elegance feels grounded, not staged. It’s less about indulgence, more about immersion into a slower, richer rhythm of life. After-Hours Art and Culture in Florence and Rome Italy’s cultural icons are no secret. The difference is how you experience them. Instead of navigating crowds, imagine stepping into historic landmarks after hours—when the noise fades and the details come alive. Private access to museums and heritage sites allows you to move slowly, noticing things most people miss. In places like Florence and Rome, where art and history exist on an overwhelming scale, this kind of access transforms everything. A gallery visit becomes personal. A centuries-old structure feels almost intimate. Luxury here isn’t about exclusivity for its own sake—it’s about space. The space to experience beauty without distraction. It’s also where Italian fashion and lifestyle trends quietly come to life—in art, architecture, and the way people move through these cities. Venice, But Quieter and More Personal Venice is often described as magical, but the truth is, it’s even better when it’s quiet. Early mornings and late evenings reveal a different side of the city—one where canals reflect stillness instead of crowds. A private gondola ride at sunrise, or a curated walking tour through lesser-known alleys, shifts the entire experience. There’s something deeply elegant about Venice when you slow it down. No rush, no checklist—just the rhythm of water, footsteps, and stories hidden in plain sight. This is luxury travel in Italy at its most understated—where the experience isn’t loud, but it stays with you long after you leave. Lake Como and the Art of Effortless Luxury If the Amalfi Coast is dramatic, Lake Como is composed. Everything here feels intentional—the villas, the gardens, the way the mountains meet the water. Luxury isn’t loud. It’s quiet, precise, and deeply considered. Days are best spent on the water. A private boat ride across the lake gives you a different perspective—one where historic villas and small towns unfold slowly, almost like a painting in motion. Afternoons might lead you to a lakeside terrace, where time fades into conversation, good food, and the kind of calm that defines a true luxury travel Italy guide experience—curated, immersive, and effortlessly refined. The Italian Way of a Luxury Italian Lifestyle What makes Italy different isn’t just what you do—it’s how you experience it. Luxury here isn’t rushed. It’s not packed into itineraries or measured in how much you see. It’s found in the details: a long lunch, a quiet view, a moment that wasn’t planned but stayed with you anyway. Across the country, from coastal villages to countryside estates, the experiences may change, but the feeling remains the same. Effortless. Timeless. And at its core, this is what defines a luxury Italian lifestyle—not excess, but intention, beauty, and the art of slowing down. There’s something about Italy that makes luxury feel effortless. It is not loud or overdone. It simply exists in the way people dress, the way they live, and the way they carry themselves every day. At the heart of it all is the idea of a luxury Italian lifestyle . It is not just about owning beautiful things. It is about choosing quality over excess, slowing down when it matters, and finding beauty in the details most people overlook. From fashion to everyday rituals, here are the trends that continue to shape modern luxury in Italy. Quiet Luxury Over Flash In Italy, style rarely asks for attention. It earns it. You will notice this in the way people dress. Neutral tones, clean cuts, and fabrics that feel as good as they look. There is a strong focus on tailoring, where even the simplest outfit feels refined because it fits perfectly. This shift toward understated elegance is what defines modern Italian fashion today. Instead of bold logos or fast trends, the emphasis is on timeless pieces that last for years. Cashmere knits, linen shirts, and well-made leather accessories speak louder than anything flashy ever could. It is a reflection of a deeper mindset. True luxury does not need to prove itself. Craftsmanship That Tells a Story Italian fashion has always been rooted in craftsmanship, and that continues to shape how luxury is defined today. Across cities and small towns, artisans still work with techniques passed down through generations. Whether it is leather goods, tailored suits, or handmade shoes, there is a sense of pride in how things are made. This attention to detail is what sets Italian products apart. You are not just buying an item. You are investing in something that carries history, skill, and intention. For many, this is where the luxury Italian lifestyle begins. It is not about quantity. It is about owning fewer things that truly matter. The Rise of Slow Living Luxury in Italy is not always about where you go. Often, it is about how you spend your time. Long lunches that turn into late afternoons. Coffee breaks that are never rushed. Evenings that are meant for conversation, not distraction. This rhythm of slow living has become one of the most desirable aspects of Italian culture. It is also influencing how people travel and live today. More travellers are choosing experiences that allow them to pause and fully take in their surroundings. Whether it is staying in a countryside villa or enjoying a quiet meal in a small trattoria, the focus is on being present. This approach transforms everyday moments into something memorable. Food and Wine as Everyday Luxury In Italy, food is not just a necessity. It is a ritual. Fresh ingredients, simple recipes, and a deep respect for tradition define the Italian approach to dining. Meals are meant to be enjoyed, not rushed. Even the most basic dish is prepared with care and attention. Wine follows the same philosophy. It is not reserved for special occasions. It is part of daily life, meant to complement food and bring people together. This is another expression of a luxury Italian lifestyle . It is not about extravagance. It is about appreciating quality in the simplest things. Homes That Feel Personal and Timeless Italian interiors rarely follow trends. Instead, they reflect personality and history. You might find antique furniture next to modern pieces, or handmade ceramics displayed alongside contemporary art. There is a sense of balance that feels natural rather than curated. Natural materials play a big role. Stone, wood, linen, and terracotta create spaces that feel warm and lived in. Nothing feels overly styled. Everything has a purpose. This approach to design shows that luxury is not about perfection. It is about creating a space that feels authentic. Fashion as a Way of Life In Italy, fashion is not separate from daily life. It is part of it. People dress well for simple reasons. A walk through the city, a casual meeting, or an evening out with friends. There is always an effort to look put together, but it never feels forced. This mindset is what makes Italian style so distinct. It is not driven by trends alone. It is shaped by culture, confidence, and a strong sense of identity. Over time, this has influenced global fashion. The idea that style should feel natural, comfortable, and personal is becoming more relevant than ever. The True Meaning of Modern Luxury What makes Italian luxury stand out is not just what you see. It is what you feel. It is in the way time slows down during a meal. It is in the comfort of well-made clothing. It is in the quiet confidence that comes from knowing you do not need more to feel fulfilled. This is what defines a luxury Italian lifestyle today. It is thoughtful, intentional, and deeply rooted in everyday experiences. Modern luxury, as Italy shows us, is not about having everything. It is about choosing what truly matters and enjoying it fully. Not every journey in Italy needs a map. Some are guided by a feeling. A quiet pull toward places that are not trying to impress you, yet somehow do. The kind of places where time slows down, conversations last longer, and luxury feels personal. If you are drawn to a luxury Italian lifestyle , you begin to notice these places differently. You stop asking what is famous and start asking what feels right. This is not a list of destinations. Think of it as a way to choose your Italy. If You Crave the Sea, But Not the Spotlight Skip the crowded curves of the Amalfi Coast and move further south to Cilento. The coastline is just as striking, but the energy is softer. Here, mornings begin quietly. The sea is calmer, the villages are slower, and nothing feels staged for visitors. You spend your day swimming in clear water, walking through small streets, and discovering places that are not marked on every travel guide. Luxury here is not about access. It is about absence. Fewer people, fewer distractions, more space to actually experience where you are. If You Want Tuscany Without the Performance Tuscany is often imagined a certain way. Rolling hills, perfect vineyards, carefully framed views. But step into the quieter corners of Val d’Orcia, and something shifts. It feels less like a destination and more like a rhythm. You wake up to mist sitting low over the fields. Breakfast stretches longer than planned. The day unfolds without urgency. Maybe you visit a local vineyard. Maybe you do not. Either way, it feels complete. This is where the luxury Italian lifestyle reveals itself in its simplest form. Not curated, not rushed, just deeply lived. If You Are Drawn to Water, But Prefer Stillness Lake Como is known, but not fully understood. Move away from its busiest pockets, and it becomes something else entirely. Smaller villages offer a quieter version of the same beauty. The lake reflects stillness instead of movement. Afternoons are spent on a boat, not for sightseeing, but for the feeling of drifting without a plan. Then there is Lake Orta. Less spoken about, yet unforgettable. It does not try to compete. It simply exists, calm and composed. In places like these, luxury feels almost invisible. And that is exactly the point. If You Find Beauty in Slower Places Head north toward regions like Piedmont or Trentino, where the landscape changes and so does the pace. In Piedmont, days revolve around vineyards and long meals. The experience is intimate. You are not one of many. You are simply there, tasting, walking, pausing. Trentino offers a different kind of quiet. Mountains, lakes, and air that feels cleaner somehow. You move between outdoor moments and complete stillness without needing to choose. These places do not try to entertain you. They invite you to slow down instead. If You Prefer Islands That Feel Like Secrets Italy’s islands are often associated with summer crowds, but some still feel personal. Procida is one of them. Colourful, yes, but not overwhelming. The streets are narrow, the pace is gentle, and the experience feels unfiltered. In parts of Sardinia, especially away from the well-known resorts, you find something even rarer. Secluded beaches, quiet stays, and a sense that you have stepped away from everything else. You are not following an itinerary. You are simply being there. ……And If You Are Not Looking for a Place at All Then you are already close to understanding it. Because the essence of a luxury Italian lifestyle is not tied to a single destination. It is found in how you move through a place. Slowly. Intentionally. Without trying to fit everything in. It is in the unplanned moments. The long meals. The quiet views. The decision to stay a little longer instead of moving on. Italy offers endless destinations. But the ones that stay with you are rarely the obvious ones. A Quick Way to Choose Your Italy For coastal calm and fewer crowds: Cilento For a slower, more intimate Tuscany: Val d’Orcia For lakeside stillness and quiet elegance: Lake Orta For wine, food, and countryside immersion: Piedmont For a peaceful island escape: Procida Follow La Peninsula for more stories that explore elegance, culture, and the art of living well.
