A Global Fashion Phenomenon Arrives in Miami

From February 6 through June 14, 2026, the Dolce & Gabbana Exhibition Miami 2026, From the Heart to the Hands, transforms Miami’s Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) into a world of Italian fantasy, heritage, and haute couture. Following sold-out runs in Milan, Paris, and Rome, this landmark exhibition makes its United States debut with a newly expanded vision designed in dialogue with Miami’s vibrant Design District.

Curated by Florence Müller, with scenography by Agence Galuchat and produced by MARI, a global leader in cultural experiences spanning art, fashion, and entertainment, the exhibition unfolds as a multisensory journey through Italian luxury fashion, an invitation to step into a realm where magic and fantasy, legend and reality exist seamlessly side by side. With more than 150 exhibitions worldwide, including iconic retrospectives of Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior, Müller brings both scholarly depth and visual poetry to this experience in Miami’s Design District.

At the heart of “From the Heart to the Hands” lies a profound dedication to Italian craftsmanship and handmade luxury, a philosophy that defines Dolce & Gabbana’s creative universe. Featuring more than 300 pieces spanning Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria, and Alta Gioielleria, the exhibition reveals the intricate journey from inspiration to execution, what the designers describe as the transformation of ideas from the heart into creations realized entirely by hand.

Each piece reflects a contemporary “Grand Tour” of Italy. Sicily’s vibrant traditions emerge through embroidery inspired by ceramics and folklore, while Florence’s architectural grandeur takes shape in sculptural appliqué. Venice glows through hand-painted silks and crystal embellishments reminiscent of Byzantine mosaics, while Portofino and Capri appear in sunlit motifs that evoke the ease of la dolce vita. From Sardinian weaving traditions to the theatrical iconography of Naples and Palermo, every garment becomes a narrative, an embodiment of Italy’s cultural memory reimagined through couture.

Immersive Rooms of Fashion Becoming Art

Moving through the exhibition feels like entering a sequence of cinematic worlds, each revealing a different dimension of the Dolce & Gabbana imagination. In rooms inspired by Venice, shimmering mosaics and golden light echo the splendor of St. Mark’s Basilica, while elsewhere, the designers pay homage to Luchino Visconti’s “The Leopard,” capturing the elegance and transformation of Italian aristocracy.

The concept of devotion emerges through Sacred Heart motifs that glow against dark, Baroque-inspired settings, where gold embellishment and intricate embroidery blur the boundary between the sacred and the sensual. Opera becomes both setting and story, with garments inspired by Verdi, Puccini and Bellini unfolding like scenes from a grand Italian stage. In another space, the grandeur of Rome takes center stage, where ecclesiastical silhouettes and references to Castel Sant’Angelo translate history into couture.

Even mythology and antiquity are woven into the narrative, as garments inspired by ancient Greece and Renaissance masters evoke gods, goddesses and timeless beauty. Across each room, fashion is not simply displayed; it is performed, experienced and brought vividly to life.

Italy is not merely referenced; it is the very soul of the exhibition. From the ancient ruins of Rome to the windswept landscapes of Sardinia, each collection draws on a cultural identity spanning centuries.

In Sardinia, ancestral rituals and traditional craftsmanship inspire garments that echo the island’s raw beauty. In Milan, the beating heart of the Dolce & Gabbana ateliers, craftsmanship reaches its highest expression, where artisans bring each design to life through meticulous technique and artistry. The ateliers themselves become part of the story, revealing how sketches evolve into couture through tailoring, draping, and embellishment.

This level of authenticity is made possible by a rare distinction in modern fashion: Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana remain both founders and owners of their maison. Their independence allows for creative freedom, resulting in work that is deeply personal, culturally rich, and unmistakably Italian.

“From the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana” is a multi-sensory celebration of Italian culture, couture craftsmanship, and the imaginative world of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. Featuring more than 300 archival and contemporary pieces, the exhibition traces each creation from inspiration to hand-finished artistry, revealing how emotion, memory, and meticulous craftsmanship shape every design.

Presented across immersive environments inspired by art, architecture, opera, folklore, and la dolce vita, the exhibition reflects the designers’ ongoing reinterpretation of Italian heritage through a contemporary lens. First unveiled in Milan in 2024 and later traveling to Paris and Rome, it arrives in Miami reimagined for ICA Miami’s expanded space.
